There are many ways you can impact change within your community. Join a general or committee meeting or subscribe to our mailing list to get updated information on events and ways to get involve

Ways to be an advocate in your own community include:

  • Understand the change you want
  • Engage in Town Hall Meetings
  • Learn about community issues
  • Promote Awareness
  • Be Creative
  • Provide training and/or presentations
  • Encourage Use of Drop Boxes to safely dispose of medications
  • Attend a general and/or committee meeting to learn more
  • Take Part in Campaigns such as #EndStigmaASAP,
    Talk It Up, Lock It Up, and #WeDoRecover

    Our Committees

    Alcohol Initiatives & Tobacco Free Partnership

    This committee works to reduce underage drinking and impaired driving in the community by providing education and implementing effective strategies that work to create population level change. In 2019, Alcohol Initiatives joined forces (and meetings) with Pasco County Tobacco Free Partnership.

    Cultural Competence

    This committee works to #ChangeTheLangeASAP, building education and awareness on the importance of cultural competence in our community; helping to create a community that celebrates our differences!

    Meets: 3rd Monday of the Month, 3:30pm – 4:30pm *See Events Page for more information!

    Prescription Drug/Rx Misuse

    This committee tackles opioids and prescription drug misuse, helping to battle the epidemic by building community awareness, education, enhancing access to opioid alternatives and life-saving Narcan; helping to build strategies that save lives and reduce harm. This committee was created after passionate parents in Pasco County decided it was time to make a difference to stop the misuse of prescription medications in our community.

    Recovery

    This committees mission is to enhance the quality and quantity of support to those affected by substance use disorders through community involvement, advocacy, public education, and awareness.

    Meets: 4th Monday of the Month, 5pm – 6pm *See Events Page for more information!

    Substance Exposed Newborn (SEN)

    This committees mission is to reverse the growing epidemic of substance exposed newborns and synthetic drug use by designing and implementing strategic instruments, eliminating risk factors and promoting protective factors.
