SUMMARY:Recovery Walk 2021
DESCRIPTION:Free Event for All! Come join us as we walk to celebrate those persons in recovery from Substance Use Disorders and to promote education\, awareness\, prevention\, and resources for the community. Hosted by the Recovery Committee of Pasco ASAP. Sign up via PascoASAP FaceBook page. There will be T-shirts\, Speakers\, Vendors/Resources\, and prizes! August 21\, 2021 9am-12pm at Sims Park\, New Port Richey. \nHelp us to break the stigma or addiction; when stigma is reduced\, lives are saved! We must recognize the prevalence of mental health and substance use disorders and re-educate not only ourselves but friends\, family and the community as a whole. The truth is that persons with substance use disorders do recover and that it is a treatable and manageable medical condition; not a moral failing or a character flaw. The Surgeon General reports that only 1 in 10 Americans with a substance use disorder seek treatment. Stigma erodes self-esteem\, damages relationships and creates barriers to health seeking behaviors; fueling a public health crisis in America. Be a part of the solution and help us to Celebrate Recovery! \nRecovery Walk Flyer \nIf you are interested in being a Vendor please see the links below for information on how to participate and/or contact Missy Coyle at Missy.Coyle@Baycare.org. Deadline for vendors is Aug. 6\, 2021. \nRecovery Walk Vendor Application
